After his wife, sister and aunt was murdured by a ruthless Ampatuan clan, Ismael Madudadatu filed to run for governor of Maguindanao province. Maguindanao province was the scene where 57 Filipinos were murdured by the Ampatuan clan with the ring leader, Andal Ampatuan Jr, who is running against Ismael Madudatatu. This is another example of the corruption within the Philippine government. This is the biggest and deadliest attack ever by an elected official in the Philippines, but it’s not the first.
This type of practice has been going on the Philippines for a long time. Corrupted officials, police corruptions and government involvement in murders of election candidates.
