A back to back treatment of a malaise which has shocked Philippine society for the past so many years: the mysterious disappearances and killings of Filipino journalists and activists. The film focuses on a hard-hitting radio commentator and his conflict with a former classmate who is a suburban town mayor. The radioman’s story runs parallel to the tale of a student-activist on the run with his activist-girlfriend. These parallel stories are interwoven with a third story, that of the former military man , now their would-be assassin. This killer’s unexpected obsession with his wife leads to a climax of murder and mayhem.

The Popular food channel show No Reservation: Tony Bourdain finally visited the Philippines. Anthony Bourdain’s visit to the Philippines was an incredible food adventure for the one time New York Chef and writer.

Bourdain finally acknowledge that the Filipino version of Lechon is the best that he ever had. Bourdain ate all the popular Filipino dishes such as pork sinigang, sisig and bulalo. Here’s an 11 minute clip of his visit.

Filipino actor Fernando Poe Jr was one of the beloved movie star in the Philippines and also turned politician. He was loved by millions of Filipinos world wide and to this day, still one of the celebrated actor in Philippine cinema history.

Fernando Poe Jr died this past December, 2009 in which he suffered a stroke. Doctors say that he had a blood clot on his brain and was in a coma. Fernando Poe Jr starred in more than 200 films during his illustrious movie career. Here is a tribute clip of Fernando Poe jr.

As many of you know that the Pacquiao Mayweather Fight is Off. But I think after the fight that each fighter will have this coming spring, they will resume the talk to a fall fight or even a fight 2011.

Everyone was looking forward to this fight and it was going to be the biggest boxing fight in a long time. But the fight will eventually going to be a reality someday, but for now we’ll have to settle for a mediocre fight for each fighter. Manny Pacquiao agreed to take the drug test a month before the fight and right after the fight, but the Mayweather camp did not want that, so the fight is off for now.

Here is a white dude cooking Filipino adobo and for those who wants to learn how to cook adobo, here’s a video of it. As most of you know, Adobo is one of the most popular dishes in the Philippines. You can pretty much cook any type of meat with it. You can cook chicken adobo, pork adobo, beef adobo and even fish adobo. I’ve never tried fish adobo, but I’m sure it’s really good. At least this white person knows how to speak a little bit of tagalog.
