Why is Wowowee so popular here in the United States? Every Filipino household seems to know the show and all it’s popular music, especially the Filipina dancers. So why is it the most popular Filipino tv show? Partly because of Willie Revillame, a great host, who relates pretty well with the contestants on the show. Wowowee is broadcast by ABS-CBN in the Philippines and first aired February 5, 2005.
The show is a variety show, part entertainment and and helps contestants who are in need of help, most of the time they are poor. The contestants are given a chance to show their unique talents and maybe win some big prizes. The show is also have varieties of skits, comedy skits, live appearance of major Filipino stars and the audience are also takes part of the show.
